April 18, 2024 - Walk with Elected Officials
On Thursday, April 18, Bike Walk Knoxville staff and volunteers were joined by folks from across the Knoxville community for a Walk with Elected Officials in the Marble City, Pond Gap, Sutherland Heights, and Kingston Pike-Sequoyah Hills neighborhoods. Two members of City Council attended, Lauren Rider (District 4) and Charles Thomas (District 5), as well as Board of Education member Kat Bike (District 4). Several candidates for local office also participated - Charles Frazier (Knox County Commission - District 1), Garrett Holt (Knox County Commission - District 4), Matthew Park (Knox County Commission - District 9), and Patricia Fontenot-Ridley (Knox County School Board - District 3). We would also like to thank Knoxville Transportation Authority (KTA) Board member Dustin Durham, representatives of the City of Knoxville Greenways Commission, and members of staff from the City of Knoxville for walking with us, sharing their expertise and listening to community concerns.
